Bubastite Portal

The Bubastite Portal is a stone relief located at the ancient city of Karnak in Egypt. It depicts the Egyptian Pharaoh Shoshenq I and his military conquests, including his invasion of the Kingdom of Judah.

The relief shows Shoshenq holding a group of captives by their hair, and behind him, soldiers carry spears and shields. The portal is notable for containing the earliest-known reference to the “House of David,” providing evidence for the existence of the biblical King David.

The image captures the power and military might of the ancient Egyptians and their influence on the region.
