Joshua City of Jericho
The stock image depicts the ancient city of Jericho during the time of Joshua. The map shows the city’s walls, which were famously destroyed by the Israelites in their conquest of the city. The walls are shown surrounding the city, which is located near the Jordan River in the region of modern-day Palestine.
The map also shows the location of the Israelite camp, which is on the opposite side of the city from the Jordan River. The Jordan River is depicted flowing southwards through the map, and the city of Gilgal, where the Israelites set up their base camp, is shown just south of the river.
The map gives a sense of the geographical context of the events described in the book of Joshua, which details the Israelites’ conquest of Canaan.
