Numbers Kadesh Barnea

The stock image shows the location of this important site in the biblical narrative. Kadesh Barnea is a desert oasis in the southern part of Canaan, near the border of Egypt, where the Israelites camped for a time during their journey from Egypt to the Promised Land.

According to the Bible, this was the place where Moses sent twelve spies to scout out the land of Canaan, and where the Israelites rebelled against God and were sentenced to wander in the wilderness for forty years.
