The Khabur River

Description

The Khabur River map depicts a major river in the Near East that flows through modern-day Turkey, Syria, and Iraq. The Khabur River, also known as the Habur River, was a significant water source for the ancient civilizations that lived along its banks, including the Assyrians, Babylonians, and Sumerians.

The river originates in the Taurus Mountains of Turkey and flows southward through Syria before joining the Tigris River in Iraq. The Khabur River was an important trade route, allowing goods to be transported between the ancient kingdoms of Mesopotamia and the Levant.

Today, the river is still used for irrigation and is an important source of water for agriculture in the region.
