High Priest

Description

The stock image shows a High Priest, a title given to the chief religious leader in ancient Israel.

He wears a long robe with a blue ephod, which is a decorative vestment with two shoulder pieces. On his head, he wears a mitre, a head covering that represents his authority. In his right hand, he holds a golden censer, a type of incense burner used for religious rituals.

The High Priest’s role was to lead the worship services at the Temple in Jerusalem and to serve as the mediator between God and the people.
